Hello and welcome! I am thrilled that you are here. My name is Dr. Karin Moore, and I am the founder of The STEM Woman, LLC.

My mission is to pay it forward by promoting greater participation of girls and women in STEM fields.

We also help organizations develop their Diversity Equity Inclusion and Belongingness strategies if they are looking to attract, grow, and retain women and girls in STEM fields. Whether it is researching, teaching, presenting or coaching, I am bringing my mission of increasing female STEM representation to life.

Research on Women in STEM in the Workplace and in Academia

Speaking Events

My lived experiences and research come together for engaging talks on leadership, career advancement, and overcoming obstacles in STEM.

“I was so impressed with Dr. Moore’s session at AAUW #NCCSWSL2024 “Success Strategies and Barriers for Women in STEM”. An enviable preview of her Ph.D study’s findings, Dr. Moore shared convincing data on how women will face certain barriers as well strategies to overcome them. She underlined this with the long-term mental, economic and financial effects a reduced autonomous female workforce would mean for STEM fields.…a thought-provoking idea she presented on addressing Imposter Syndrome. Dr. Karin K. Moore posited that a lack of psychological safety in certain situations can trigger these feelings. In those moments, it’s important to affirm your abilities and understand that these feelings are often a result of the surrounding environment and not a reflection of your confidence.”
